Scale of Pay – Candidates who will be selected for Assistant Professor job will be paid Rs. 15600 – 39100/- with grade pay Rs. 6000/- per month.
Age limit – Candidates’ age for appointment on the post Assistant Professor should be less than 57 years as on 01.07.2012 for both discipline Engineering and Non Engineering.
Educational Qualification -
i. Assistant Professor in Engineering Discipline – Candidates must have passed B.E. / B.Tech. and M.E. or M.Tech. in the concerned discipline of Engineering or Technology with minimum 60% marks from any recognized university.
ii. Assistant Professor in Non Engineering Discipline – Candidates must have completed Master degree in the relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks from any recognized university and passed National Eligibility Test ( NET ) for lecturers.

Application form - Candidates can obtain application form personally from the office of Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai – 600 025 / Principals of Government and Government- Aided Engineering and Polytechnic Colleges on payment of Rs. 50/- .
Examination fee – Candidates are required to pay Rs. 600/- ( Rs. 300/- for SC/ST and Physically Challenged ) and Rs. 50/- for Bank Charges through Challan in State Bank of India.
How to apply: – Applications complete in all respects should be sent personally along with Challan and photocopies of certificates of educational qualification, etc in the Office of the Directorate of Technical Education , Chennai – 600 025 / Principals of Government and Government-Aided Engineering and Polytechnic Colleges.
