Applications are invited from Indian citizens for admission into PhD Programme of IISER Bhopal in the following areas for the session commencing from Dec. 31, 2011 www.allgovtjobs.in
Biological Sciences,  Chemical Sciences,  Earth & Environmental Sciences,  Mathematical Sciences,  Physical Sciences

Department	Qualification
Physics	The applicant must have completed or is about to earn a M.Sc. or B.Tech. with at least 55% marks or equivalent. SC/ST and physically handicap (PH) candidates must have at least 50% marks or equivalent. The applicants must also have any one of the following: Valid CSIR-UGC NET(LS)/JRF, GATE score or JEST score.
Biological Science	The applicant must have completed or is about to earn a Master’s degree in any branch of life science with at least 60% marks and an excellent academic record. SC/ST and physically handicap (PH) candidates must have at least 50% marks at the Master’s level. The applicants must also have any one of the following: 1. A valid CSIR/UGC NET JRF / ICMR – Life Science-JRF / DBT category-A JRF / DST INSPIREJRF  Valid GATE score. GATE cut-off will be decided later. GATE qualified candidates without JRF will be provided fellowship from the Institute.
Earth and Environmental Sciences	The applicant must have completed a Master’s degree in any branch of Earth and Environmental Sciences/Physics/Chemistry with least 55% marks and an excellent academic record. SC/ST and physically handicap (PH) candidates must have at least 50% marks at the Master’s level. Applicants must have qualified in CSIR-UGC NET/ GATE/ INSPIRE or any other fellowship recognized by Govt. of India.
Chemistry	Applicants must have completed M.Sc. or B. Tech with at least 55% marks or equivalent. SC/ST and Physically Challenged applicants should have at least 50% marks or equivalent. Final year students are also eligible to apply. Besides condition (a) applicants MUST have a valid CSIR-UGC NET JRF/LS, or GATE or equivalent examination score

Note : Students with MTech, ME, MPharm or other professional degrees who got admission in these programs through GATE are directly eligible for PhD without valid GATE score

Selection Procedure: Selections will be based on the performance at the interviews

Age limit: The applicant should not have completed 28 years on December 31st 2011

How to apply

The application s in the prescribed format . The form must be duly filled with all the details and must reach IISER Bhopal by 04th November , 2011. Applications received after this date will not be entertained. Explicit mention of the research areas must be made. Candidates must also submit, along with the application, one page write-up (~ 500 words) of their research interests which may or may not be from the above mentioned areas. The write-up should also include the name, contact number, address and email of at least two referees who can comment on the scientific abilities of the candidate. These should preferably be the people with whom the candidate has worked in the near past as a project trainee /summer trainee etc.
